A three car accident occurred Wednesday morning along Hwy 377S in the southbound lanes at the intersection of 8th Street, sending one to the hospital. The accident occurred approximately 9:40am.
According to police on scene, the accident occurred as the first two vehicles were yielding to oncoming traffic before attempting to merge into the southbound flow of traffic. A green Chevrolet king cab pickup collided with a black Cadillac Escalade sending it into the Hummer in front of it.
The officer on scene stated that it appeared to be a classic chain reaction accident from one vehicle rear ending another.
Drivers of the truck and Hummer were uninjured; however the female driver of the Escalade was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Her condition was unknown at the time of the accident.
The driver of the truck was arrested on an outstanding warrant from another county for Failure to Appear.
