Armstrong, Toeppich & Grice Win Big on Lake Stamford

Brownwood Bass Club 2 of Us Couples took top honors at the Win Big on Lake Stamford fishing tournament in early April.

Two tournaments were held on Lake Stamford on Saturday April 1st, the Haskell Bass Club open tournament and the 2 of Us Couples Tournament.  Several of the couple’s teams entered the Haskell Bass Club tournament also and Brownwood walked away with several big prizes.  Cash prizes were paid on 10 places with one extra cash prize for the Lucky 13th place.

 

The club also gave away $100 dollars every hour for the biggest bass and another $50 for the 2nd biggest bass of the hour.  The Brownwood Bass Club members racked the money up on these extra prizes along with their regular winnings.  Danny Armstrong and Ina Grice both won $100 for being the biggest bass of the hour and Bruce Toeppich won $50 for the 2nd biggest bass of the hour.

There were 25 fish caught by the 2 of Us Couples, giving the 4 teams their 5 fish limit.  Their total pounds of fish caught were 93.12.

Danny and Brenda Armstrong (pictured above) walked away with first place in the 2 of Us Tournament with their stringer of 5 fish which weighed in at 28.17 pounds.  Danny Armstrong (pictured at top) also had the men’s Big Bass for the 2 of Us with a nice 8.69 pound bass.

Danny Armstrong also won the overall 1st place in the Haskell Bass Club Open Tournament with his total of 3 fish, 17.19 pounds, netting him the first place prize money of $1000 dollars.  He also had the 2nd place big bass for the Haskell Bass Club tournament which brought him another $500 dollars.

Brenda Armstrong also won the lucky 13th place with 12.22 lbs in the Haskell Bass Club tournament which gave her a nice check also.

2nd place for the 2 of Us Couples was Bruce Toeppich with 5 fish totaling 20.43 lbs.  He also placed 7th with his 3 fish limit weighing in at 13.93 lbs in the Haskell Bass Club tournament winning some extra prize money.

3rd place for the 2 of Us Couples was Johnny and Ina Grice with 5 fish weighing in at a total of 20.08 lbs.  Ina (pictured above) also had the Women’s Big Bass for the 2 of Us with her bass weighing 7.02 lbs. She also placed 6th with her 3 fish total of 14.82 lbs in the Haskell Bass Club tournament netting her another nice check.

4th place for the 2 of Us Couples with 5 fish total weight of 12.72 – Logan McDonald and Natalie Teveni

5th place for the 2 of Us Couples with 4 fish total weight 10.46 lbs – Cory and Deirdre Colyer

6th place for the 2 of Us Couples with 1 fish total weight 1.26 lbs – Gary Webb and Phyllis Crable

“Lots of fun and a big day on Lake Stamford for lots of Brownwood Fishermen and Women!” said member Jennetta Brown Toeppich.  “Way to go Brownwood!”
