BFD: Fire & Rescue Reports 4/23

BFDlogoSmallReports released for the week of April 15-21, 2012 from the Brownwood Fire Department indicate responses to 23 medical emergencies, 2 motor vehicle accident, and 4 fire calls.

Reports of interest include:

Sunday, April 15

*6:22pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 800 block of Belle Plain.  Fire crews arrived on scene to find smoke coming from the structure.  Firefighters confirmed that all occupants were out of the house.  The fire was extinguished and the fire marshal was notified to bring the arson dog to the scene.

*11:09pm – BFD was dispatched to a fire call in the area of Farm Market Road 45 and Vick Drive.  Fire crews investigated the smell of smoke in the area; however, nothing was found.

Tuesday, April 17

*5:42pm – BFD responded to a one-vehicle accident in the area of US Hwy 377S & County Road 212 involving single vehicle.  One occupant was extricated from the vehicle and loaded into Guardian EMS ambulance for transport to Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Thursday, April 19

*3:57pm – BFD responded to a two-vehicle accident in the area of 11th Street and Avenue K.  Fire crews checked for injuries and provided first aid.

Saturday, April 21

*12:44pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 500 block of E. Commerce.  Fire crews were dispatched to investigate smoke.  Firefighters arrived to find a faulty light ballast.  Management was instructed to notify an electrician.

*7:21pm – BFD was called to a fire in the 1500 block of Davis Lane for a possible structure fire. Upon arrival, a resident was found to be cooking hamburgers on back balcony and there was no fire.
