Weekly Fishing Reports for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water murky; 61–64 degrees; 9.81′ low. Black bass to 7 pounds are excellent on red bug spinnerbaits and Shaky heads with Grande Bass Finesse worms along rock cuts in 3–6 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass to 1.5 pounds are fair on Li’l Fishies and Rat–L–Traps under lights at night. Crappie are excellent on minnows over brush piles in 16–25 feet, and at Wild Duck Marina under lighted docks in 8–15 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water lightly stained; 57–61 degrees; 15.84′ low. Black bass are fair on Rat–L–Traps, crankbaits, and jerkbaits. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 66–71 degrees; 39.66′ low. Black bass are fair to good on Rat–L–Traps, Texas rigs, jigs and swim jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on tail spinners and live bait. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut bait.

Lake Proctor

Water stained; 59–63 degrees; 0.57′ high. Black bass are fair on Rat–L–Traps and small crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on minnows. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shad and doughbait. Yellow catfish are slow
