James Daniel Grundy

GrundyFuneral services for James Daniel Grundy will be Thursday April 5, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Grundy passed away Sunday in Norman, Oklahoma.

He was born April 24, 1942 in Gainesville, Texas to J.M. ”Pete” and Louise Nolen Grundy. He was married to Cledith Forga in Carlsbad, New Mexico on July 7, 1977. He has lived in Brown County for the past five years. James was a member of the American Legion where he served as an officer, and a member of the North Lake Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. His hobbies were wood working, repairing rod and reels, plants, and his aquarium. He also loved his grandchildren and his special grandchild, his dog Hercules.

James is survived by his wife Cledith Grundy of May, Tx., four daughters; Margie and husband Tim Adams of Norman, Ok., Charlene and husband Roy Tankersley of Ardmore, Ok., Wendy and husband Scott Phillips of Lubbock, Tx., Nikiti and husband David Ridgeway of Big Lake, Tx. He is also survived by two sons Danny Reed of Mechanicsville, Maryland, and Dwayne and wife Lisa Forga of Midland, Texas, twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, his father J.M. “Pete” Grundy of Stephenville, Tx., two sisters Vickie and husband Lee Little of Stephenville, Tx. and Carolyn Dunn of Mansfield, Tx., one brother Donnie and wife Sonya Grundy of Grand Prairie, Tx. He is preceded by his mother.
