Ruth Marie Farmer Peirson

Ruth Marie Farmer Peirson, 90, died Wednesday, March 21, at her daughter’s home in Cleburne, TX.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early with Bill Allen of Coggin Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday evening, March 24, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are by Davis Morris Funeral Home in Brownwood.

Mrs. Peirson was born May 2, 1921 to Walter Blake and Maude McCoy Farmer in Eddy, Tx. Ruth graduated from Breckenridge High School.

She married Fred L. Peirson on July 1, 1944. They lived in Brownwood since 1945.

Ruth worked after graduation at the Y in Stephenville, Consolidated Aircraft in Fort Worth and retired from the city tax office. She always enjoyed working with numbers but after retirement she began growing flowers and took great joy in her plants and in showing them to her granddaughter Maralena who spent many wonderful summers with her grandparents.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, and brother Jack Farmer.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna Peirson Smith of Cleburne, one granddaughter Maralena Almond and husband Kirby of Cleburne and two great-grandchildren Maddie and Walker; and three nephews Edward B. Farmer of Crowley, Tx, John Farmer and Jim Farmer of Austin, Tx.

The family would like to give thanks to the Community Hospice of Johnson County for the care and support they gave to Ruth and her daughter.
