comptrollerlogoThe Texas State Comptroller’s office released sales tax revenue information and allocations for the month of November for cities across the state.

The allocations for November are a little mixed again for this month as some local areas saw an increase while others dropped off a bit.

Brownwood saw a drop of about 5% compared to November of last year and 3.81% year to date decrease as compared to the same time period in 2008.  The monthly drop improved quiet a bit from October which saw over a 9% decrease.  Overall, the decrease has been stable for the year.

Finance Director for the City of Brownwood Walter Middleton said last month that the decrease may be an indication that people are still being very careful with their purchases.

Early City Administrator Ken Thomas said, “As far as the city of Early, we really are doing good.  Our sales tax has been on the upswing.”  Early did see a slight bump this month in sales tax revenue and is almost unchanged from the same time period last year.

Below is the full sales tax revenue chart for Bangs, Blanket, Brownwood, and Early.
