CovenantOfFreedom_BookLocal author John Carroll Brown will be holding a book signing event from 4:00-6:00pm on Saturday, March 3rd at Hastings, 600 N. Center Avenue in Brownwood.

Brown has served the church in establishing Christian schools and camps in California and Nebraska, as well as in radio and Christian television. He worked at the Bay Area School of Religion for eighteen years and is the author of three previous works. Brown lives in Brownwood with his wife, Carldene.

In his recently released and newest book, “Covenant of Freedom: The Nature and Characteristics of God’s New Covenant,” Brown reveals the new covenant in a way that is described by the publisher as “scholarly but accessible, seasoned with salt as well as grace.” The book illuminates the covenant narrative from Genesis to Revelation and what lies at the heart of Christianity, the promise of God.

Brown points out the new covenant is not based on laws or documents but on a person and that it is about relationships, a new relationship to justice, to God’s law and even to God Himself. It is expressed in the life and words of Jesus Christ. Brown reveals the significance behind Christ’s life and words, what freedoms this new covenant provides, the specific commands included with the new covenant and more.

“Covenant of Freedom” is published by Take Publishing and Enterprises, and is available through bookstores nationwide, from the publisher at www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore, or by visiting barnesandnoble.com or amazon.com.
