Weekly Fishing Reports for Area Lakes

fishingBelow are the fishing reports for area lakes as reported by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department this week.

Lake Brownwood

Water lightly stained; 51–55 degrees; 13.81′ low. Black bass are good on watermelon Bass Hogg jigs and Persuader crankbaits over brush piles in 10–15 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 10–20 feet. Channel catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers over baited holes. Yellow catfish are slow.

Lake Coleman

Water clear; 53–57 degrees; 15.89′ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse soft plastics and Rat–L–Traps. Hybrid striper are good on minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow.

O.H. Ivie Reservoir

Water stained; 45–54 degrees; 37.94′ low. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, jigs and spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.

Lake Proctor

Water fairly clear; 51–55 degrees; 1.44′ high. Black bass are fair on watermelon crankbaits and soft plastic worms off points. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 10–20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on live shad and minnows in 20–25 feet. Yellow catfish are slow.
