The Brownwood Art Association proudly announces  Sulema Orr as the winner of the People’s Choice award at the Salon des Refuses which runs in conjunction with the Stars of Texas Juried Art Show in Brownwood. 

Sulema Orr is a local professional photographer.  The winning piece is a photo of a village church taken in Scotland.  She also had a piece accepted in the Stars of Texas exhibit.  Orr also won the People’s Choice Award at the Brownwood Art Center during the 2011 Brownwood Reunion Celebration Photography contest.

Each year the People’s Choice award is selected through votes from visitors at the exhibit during the first week.  The artwork not selected for the show at the Depot was open for viewing by the public at the Salon des Refuses, sponsored by the Brownwood Art Association, at the Art Center on Fisk Avenue.

The Stars of Texas Juried Art Show and the Salon de Refuses are open to the public for viewing through today at 6:00pm, which will conclude the 2012 exhibit.
