harveyBrownwood resident Bryan Harvey announced that he will run as candidate for Brown County Commissioner Precinct 1 under the Republican ticket.

Harvey graduated from Haskell High School in 1995.  He has been a resident of Brown County since 2000 and had been employed with the City of Brownwood for over 10 years.  Six of these years Harvey worked with the street department and the last 4 years he has proudly served as a firefighter with the Brownwood Fire Department.   Within this timeframe, Harvey also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Lake Brownwood Bridge VFD.  In this volunteer capacity, he served as the Training Officer and 2nd Captain.

He is the owner and operator of “Little Hands Lawn Care” which was established in 2008.

Harvey and his wife Kimberly began parenthood as foster parents and ultimately adopted 3 children.  They all attend Brownwood schools.  Kimberly is a teacher/coach for the Brownwood Independent School District and the family is members of Early First Baptist Church

Harvey is very active and passionate about community service, especially youth league sports where he has coached football, baseball, and soccer.  He and his family are huge supporters of all youth activities.

Harvey said he prides himself on being compassionate but firm, and is a conservative, which is why he’s not running for the office of commissioner, but is running for the people of Brown County.

Harvey said he would appreciate your vote in the upcoming election and ask that you remember that every vote counts.

Candidates for local elections may submit an announcement of their candidacy to lisa@brownwoodnews.com.  Announcements will be published once and in the order they are received until the end of the second filing period.
