Law Enforcement Blotter 2/9

Law enforcement arrests and reports released Thursday, February 9, 2012.

Tuesday, February 7

*2:55pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 2100 block of Avenue E regarding theft.  According to the report, a book of checks was stolen from the complainant’s vehicle during a three week time period.  The complainant suspects that several friends of his who had borrowed his vehicle multiple times during this period might have taken the book of checks, the report states.  An investigation is ongoing.

*4:35pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 1700 block of 4th Street regarding the burglary of a vehicle.  According to the report, the incident was believed to have occurred between 10:30pm on February 6th and 4:00pm on February 7th.  Several items were stolen from the vehicle, the report states.

Wednesday, February 8th

*6:09am-Brownwood Police were called to the 300 block of Bluffview Drive regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the complainant stated that her boyfriend had damaged some household furniture.  The damage was estimated at $1000 and the complainant did wish to pursue criminal charges against the suspect.   

*8:17am-Brownwood Police located an abandoned bicycle in the 3700 block of 4th Street.  The bicycle was transported to the Brownwood Police Department where it was placed into the BPD bike impound for safe keeping until it is claimed by its proper owner.

*12:11pm-Brownwood Police were called to the 2800 block of 4th Street regarding an unwanted person.  According to the report, the complainant wished a known subject be issued a criminal trespass warning for the residence.   

*5:43pm-Brown County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to FM 2525 regarding an intoxicated subject laying in the road next to a vehicle.  The man, identified as 67-year-old Earl Roy Dean, Jr., was found to be intoxicated and was transported to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for voluntary blood draw, reports state.  After he was cleared medically and the blood specimen drawn, he was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated. 

*6:25pm-Brownwood Police were dispatched to the 1600 block of Austin Avenue regarding criminal mischief.  According to the report, the officer met with the general manager and assistant manager of Dairy Queen who stated that someone had attempted to break into the restaurant through the rear door sometime between 10:00pm on February 7th and 6:00am this date.  The complainant stated that there were pry marks on the frame around the door and also a tear on the door, the report states. 

Thursday, February 9 

*12:35am-Brownwood Police responded to the 400 block of E. Commerce, where a possible intoxicated driver was reported in the drive through at What-a-Burger.   According to the report, the driver, identified as 27-year-old Reba Diana Buffington, admitted to ingesting prescription medications and failed several sobriety tests.  Buffington was arrested for the offense of Driving While Intoxicated.

All arrestees are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
