Gladys A. Young of Santa Anna Texas formerly of Coleman was called from her home to the Lord February 3rd 2012.

Gladys was born in Coleman County 11/23/1920 to Reinhard H. Hanke and Clara Blaschke Hanke. Gladys married Leslie Allen Young in November 1940, married for 41 years until Allen passed in 1981. They had 4 daughters and one child that passed at birth. Gladys attended school in Burkett TX and became a member of the National Youth Association where she assisted families in need. She was a long standing Catholic and always stood by her beliefs. She was always a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and just an amazing woman in all ways!

Gladys is survived by 4 daughters Clara Young Jay Hammond, Cloyce Young Cody, Loretta Young Baker, and JoNeal Young Collins. 9 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grand children.


Preceded in death by her mother and father, husband, Allen Young, grandson, Zachariah Baker & great-grandson Jacob Truesdell.
Visitation Wake – Sunday 2/5/2012, 6:00 P.M. At Walker Funeral Home
Rosary – Sunday 2/5/2012, 7:00pm at Walker Funeral Home

Funeral Mass – Monday 2/6/2012, 11:00 A.M. At Sacred Heart Catholic Church

 

Interment will follow in the Coleman City Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.
