UILBrownwood High School Coaches, players and fans have been anxiously awaiting the list of the official UIL Reclassification and Realignment for the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons which was released Thursday morning giving quite a surprise of a new district without their familiar rivals.

As Brownwood ISD remains in the 3A classification, the Lions change to District 8 with rivals Burnet, Gatesville, Lampasas, Liberty Hill and Llano.

Familiar rivals such as Abilene Wylie, Big Spring, Snyder and Sweetwater will remain grouped together in District 4.  Another change in the 3A realignment is Stephenville dropping as many predicted to 3A and listed in District 7 with Alvarado, Glen Rose, Hillsboro and Venus.

Early remained in the 2A classification and will be in District 3 with Bangs, Brady, Comfort, Ingram Moore, San Angelo Grape Creek and Wall.  District 4 will be Breckenridge, Clyde, Comanche, Dublin, Eastland, Merkel and Tuscola Jim Ned.

1A  Division: 1 District 5 will have Goldthwaite, DeLeon, Hico, Santo and San Saba.  Mason will be in District 14.  Cross Plains will be in 1A Division 2 District 7.

1A 6-Man:  Division 1 District 9 is Lometa, May, Rochelle, Santa Anna and Zephyr.  Division 2 District 12 groups Moran Rising Star, Sidney, and Strawn together.  District 13 contains Blanket, Brookesmith, Mullin and Richland Springs.

With these changes, the 2012 Football Season should be exciting!
