Brownwood and Early Announce New Year Holiday Schedule for Trash Collection

For the City of Brownwood in observance of the New Year Holiday, City Hall will be closed and there will be no collection of residential waste on Monday, January 2nd.  Residents with blue or green carts, please note that your collection days are as follows.

*Monday’s routes will be collected on Tuesday.

*Tuesday’s routes will be collected on Wednesday.

*Thursday’s and Fridays routes will not be affected by the holiday.

The Recycling Center and Landfill will be closed on Monday and will reopen on Tuesday, during normal business Hours.

Please remember you may recycle your real Christmas trees at the Recycling Center or under the Austin Ave overpass at Brady Ave and Ave “A” until January 15, 2011.  Trees must be free of decorations, lights, nets, plastic and tree stands.

As a reminder; if you have brush or tree limbs, please cut them into lengths of 5 feet or less and call the Sanitation Department at 643-4200, for collection service.

For problems related to water or sewer service within the City of Brownwood, customers may call 646-6000, 24 hours per day 7 days per week.

For the City of Early, City Hall will be closed on Monday, January 2nd in observance of New Year’s Day.  Trash for Monday’s route will be picked up on Tuesday, January 3rd.  Please call 643-5451 for more information.

The City of Early will also continue its regularly scheduled trash pick-up to the best of its ability; however, delays are possible due to the recent accident.  City officials expect the issue to be short-term and ask for the citizens’ patience and understanding during this time.
