The Lake Dam VFD is gathering donations to benefit families in the Bastrop area who lost everything during the wildfires earlier this year. This afternoon, the department is collecting donations such as household items, blankets, gift cards, cash and etc. at their department, which is located near the Lake Haven area.
Firefighters from Lake Dam VFD will be loading up their vehicles and delivering all the donations to Bastrop next Wednesday, in time for Christmas.
Lake Dam VFD firefighters are traveling to Bastrop today to meet with the Central Texas Fires Organization to present them with a donation of $1000, which will go toward a Secret Santa program. HEB gift cards will be handed out to these families on Sunday.
