Veterans Day began at Northwest Elementary with students gathered in the parking lot at 8:15 a.m. to watch as Jon Tobias (freshman at Brownwood High School) present the United States and Texas flags with the 3rd cub scouts. 

The ceremony also included performances of “America the Beautiful” by the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd graders, “Taps” performed by BHS junior trumpet player Karissa Means, and “The Star-Spangled Banner”.
