The American Southwest Conference today announced its women’s soccer players of the week and Howard Payne’s Leslie Jones was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

Howard Payne junior forward Leslie Jones (Mesquite, TX / North Mesquite HS) recorded a hat trick, scoring the games’ only three goals in a road win over Schreiner. She also assisted on the game-winner in a 2-0 victory against Texas Lutheran. Jones, who takes the league’s top weekly offensive award for the second time this season, is third in the ASC in points with 15 goals and five assists.

Jones shares this honor with Texas-Dallas senior forward Leah Bowyer (Lubbock, TX / Coronado HS) recorded a hat trick – her third of the season – to fuel a win over Ozarks then dished out two assists to lead a victory over Centenary. Bowyer, who has taken the league’s top weekly offensive award three times this season, leads the ASC with 18 goals.
