A Halloween Contest that Has Gone to the Dogs

Dressed in their Halloween best, canines of all shapes and sizes participated in the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center’s sixth annual canine costume contest Saturday, October 29th.

Entry fees for the contest benefit the care of the homeless animals in the community that live at the CTSAC.  One of the animal center’s residents, Brae, participated and is available for adoption. She is totally adorable, well behaved, and ready for a home say staff at CTSAC.

Judges selected winners of the following awards, some of which won baskets full of dog treats and supplies:

  • Walter, a hot dog – Mo.st Beautiful (& Yummiest) Costume (pictured above)
  • Little Joe & Waggles, pirates – Scariest Costumes
  • Desman, Basketball  player – Most Creative Costume
  • Dexter, the punk rocker – Sexiest Costume
  • Coco, a witch – Best Look- Alike Costumes
  • Kiki, a pirate – Most Swashbuckling Costume
  • Diego, dressed as Bevo – Runner up Look-Alike Costumes
  • Candy, in camouflage – Brightest Costume
  • Brae, a pumpkin – Cutest Costume

The annual costume contest is an event that shows off cute pets and creative owners while raising money for a great cause, the homeless animals of CTSAC.  To learn more about and to support the Corinne T. Smith Animal Center with a donation, please
