National4HWeek2011

More than 30 Brown County 4-H members visited the Brown County Commissioners’ Court to proclaim October 4-10th as National 4-H Week.

The members brought two overflowing baskets of home baked goodies as a treat for the commissioners.

Brown County 4-H President Luchesse Gordon read the proclamation aloud as other members made their way to introduce themselves, tell which 4-H club they are members.

Through 4-H programs and projects, members obtain skills and education which help develop the to be the future leaders of our state, country, and world.

4-H members in Brown County are gearing up for their annual “One Day” event, which encourages all 4-H members, parents, leaders, and volunteers to step out into their communities and county and say “thank you” by giving back for their more than 103 years of support to 4-H in Texas. This day of community service is whatever each 4-H members, club, or county 4-H Program wants it to be.

This year Brown County 4-H will be giving back to the community by helping at the Fall Festival and Community Garden on October 8th.  Some will work in the garden and others will help with the festival, which is at the same location.
