The Howard Payne women’s and men’s cross country teams ran at the Hardin-Simmons Invitational this weekend in Abilene with the HPU men placing third and the women fourth.

Derick Wilson was the top finisher for the Yellow Jackets in 13th (4 miles) with a time of 24:40.90. Geremy Garza ran a time of 27:22.70, Quinton Poe was a 28:58.50, Leslie King 28:59.50, and Bryan Anderson 29:17.20.

Carissa Zarate was the Lady Jackets top finisher with a time of 22:31.40 (3 miles) in 12th place. Abriana Gutierrez finished at 23:43.60, Baillie Trumble was at 24:25.0, Amanda Gober 25:11.80, Tylene Middleton 26:04.90, and Jessica Bailey at 26:07.50

The HPU cross country teams will run at the Texas Lutheran University Invitational next Saturday in Seguin, Texas.
