Registration for 2009-2010 Leadership Brownwood Begins

BrownwoodCommunityLogoarticleRegistration has begun for the annual Leadership Brownwood program. The participants in this unique program learn leadership skills and different aspects of the Brownwood community and how they operate.

Those who benefit most in this program are community leaders, those interested in leadership & business people.

Covered topics include:


  • History of Brownwood and Tourism
  • Economic Development and Industry
  • Education from Kindergarten to Continuing Education
  • Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice
  • Social Services
  • Mental Health and Medical Services
  • Federal, State and County Government

Ghasem Nahvipour, Executive Director of the Center for Life Resources will facilitate the Retreat on September 3 from 9 AM to 4 PM which is a required session for participants. After that, sessions occur monthly for approximately 4 hours at a different location each month. A graduation ceremony will be held at noon on Friday, May 21, 2010.

The registration deadline is August 31st by 5pm and tuition is $329 per person. Participants must be associated with a current Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce member & this program is limited to only 20 participants.  Contact the Chamber for more information.
