Area Churches Host Vacation Bible Schools

MidTownVBS2011Vacation Bible School is a summertime tradition for many churches and some children think of it when they think of summer.    With summer in full swing now, churches in the area are gearing up with volunteers to provide a week full of learning about God and Christian teachings, arts & crafts, plus Kool-Aid and lots of cookies.

Schedules of vacation bible schools that are being offer in the coming weeks are below.

June 26-30

Midtown Baptist Church will host their Wildwood Forest: Discover the Untamed Nature of God” Vacation Bible School from June 26 through June 30 (Sunday – Thursday) from 6:30pm-8:30pm.  Children grades Kindergarten through 5th are invited to attend.

June 27-July 1:

GraysPandaManiaBangs First Baptist Churh will be hosting PandaMania Vacation Bible School, June 27 – July 1, 5:30-8:00 P.M. Supper is included and will begin at 5:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Parents are invited to have supper with their children each night at 5:30 and are welcomed back at 7:40 for our Rowdy Wrap-Up and dismissal in the Sanctuary.

At PandaMania VBS, kids will discover that God is Wild about them from Psalm 139! Plus we will see evidence of God in everyday life-something we call God Sightings. Your kids will also participate in a hands-on-mission project, incredible Bible-learning experiences, crafts, team-building games and cool Bible songs!  If you have any questions, please call Joy Mitchell at 325-203-0531.

JULY 10-13:

Early Church of Christ will host their VBS, themed, “Who’s the King of the Jungle?” from 6:30-8:30pm July 10th-13th.  Children 3-years-old through those in the  6th Grade are welcome to attend.
On July 13th there will be a free carnival.  All family members are invited. There will be games, food, jump houses, etc.

July 11-15:

big_appleCoggin Avenue Baptist Church will be having their Big Apple Adventure Vacation Bible School on July 11-15 from 9:00-12:00, for those ages 5 yrs. old – 5th grade.  CABC is located at 1815 Coggin Avenue in Brownwood.  For more information, please call 325-646-1506.

Early First Baptist Church will be having their VBS July 11 to 15 9 AM until noon Ages 3 to 6th grade.   To sign up online—go to earlyfbc.com; click on the “Media” tab at the middle of the page; “Registration”; “VBS Registration Form” & fill out the form to register & the T-shirt form if you want to order one. Be sure to fill in all the fields or the registration will not be processed. Forms are also available on the table in the foyer.

July 17-21:

goldrushlogoSouthside Church will be having their VBS on July 17-21 from 6-8:30pm.  This year’s VBS is “Gold Rush:  Discovering the Rock of Ages”.  Southside Church is located at 1219 Indian Creek, Brownwood, Texas, 76801.  For more information or questions, please contact the church at 325-646-0844.  Kids Registration can be found online at www.southsidebrownwood.org.

For churches having VBS which are not on this schedule, please contact BrownwoodNews by  emailing.  Details of the theme for the week, dates and a logo if possible can be sent to [email protected].  Any additional VBS information received will be added to this schedule.

First United Methodist Church Brownwood will be hosting VBS during the week of July 17-21 from 5:30-8:30 pm.  Children from  Kindergarten through6th grade are invited to attend.   “Shake It Up Café:  Where Kids Learn God’s Recipe” is the theme for the week.  For more information please call 325-643-1555 or 325-642-2307.
