Friend,

Welcome back to the Pfluger Fly-By, a weekly roundup of the work I am doing to represent you and our communities in Congress.

It was great to be back home in Texas-11 this week. I joined Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum in the Permian Basin for a tour of an e-frac site, met with community leaders in Coleman, hosted my 112th community town hall in Robert Lee, and stopped by the Coleman County Telephone Cooperative. I also cosponsored a resolution affirming Texas’s right to secure the border and joined the KWEL Morning Show hosted by Craig Anderson.

Below, you’ll find highlights, including pictures, in-depth updates, and information on how my office can help you with any federal concerns. As always, my team and I are here to serve you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance.

Best,

Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum Visits the Permian Basin

It was a privilege to welcome U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum to Midland this week! We toured a Diamondback Energy e-frac site where Secretary Burgum witnessed firsthand the cutting-edge innovation taking place in the heart of the Permian Basin. Following the tour, we participated in a roundtable discussion with industry executives and local leaders to discuss what they are experiencing on the ground and how we can help unlock and maintain American energy dominance in Washington.

As the crown jewel of American energy production, the Permian Basin is the cornerstone of American jobs, national security, and economic prosperity. Secretary Burgum has been a strong leader in advancing commonsense deregulatory efforts and fostering a more predictable regulatory environment that allows businesses to thrive. The world depends on the Permian Basin, and together, we are focused on unleashing its full potential. I look forward to the continued partnership with Secretary Burgum and the Trump Administration. Read more about our time in Midland here or by clicking the image below.

Interview with Jay Hendricks of CBS7

Jay Hendricks from CBS7 joined Secretary Burgum and I on the tour for an exclusive interview and behind-the-scenes experience on the e-frac site. Read the full story and watch the interview here or by clicking the image below.

Community Leaders Roundtable in Coleman

I enjoyed being back in Coleman this week to meet with community leaders and discuss the work we’re doing in Washington and the priorities that matter most back home. These conversations are invaluable to me as I advocate for policies in Washington to address the challenges impacting communities in Texas-11.

House Republicans have delivered monumental wins to rural America. Together, the Working Families Tax Cuts and the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 represent the most consequential investment in American agriculture in at least a generation. Specifically, the Working Families Tax Cuts delivered the largest boost to the farm safety net since the 2002 Farm Bill, and the 2026 Farm Bill now completes the job by strengthening our agricultural economy, protecting family farms and ranches, and providing the certainty that Texas producers need to plan for the future. I am grateful for the strong local leadership in Coleman County who help put these wins into action every day.

Robert Lee Town Hall

This week, I hosted my 112th community town hall in Robert Lee to discuss DHS funding, highlight the successes of the House-passed 2026 Farm Bill, and address water supply concerns in the region. I look forward to partnering with state and local leaders to address the water supply concerns discussed during the meeting.

During the town hall, I also gave a special recognition to Coke County Judge Hal Spain, who will be retiring at the end of this year after more than a decade of distinguished service. Judge Spain’s tenure has been defined by steady leadership and a deep commitment to the people of Coke County. Before entering elected office, Judge Spain served as County Commissioner and worked with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.

It’s always great to be in Coke County and meet face to face with the men and women I am blessed to fight for in Washington. These conversations are crucial in helping me serve you in Congress, and I sincerely appreciate everyone who took the time to attend, listen, and ask questions.

In Case You Missed It: If you were unable to attend the town hall in Robert Lee, you can watch a highlight of the topics I discussed on Fox West Texas here or by clicking the image below.

Texas’s Constitutional Right to Defend Its Borders and Citizens

When President Biden failed to secure the border and protect our communities, Texas stepped up. Through Operation Lone Star, our state invested more than $11 billion in border security. That’s why I signed onto a resolution authored by my fellow Texan and friend, Congressman Jodey Arrington (TX-19), affirming that states have the constitutional right to defend their borders and protect their citizens when the federal government fails to do its job. You can read more about the resolution in Fox News here or by clicking the image below.

Throughout my time in Congress, I’ve also fought tirelessly to secure the money Texas is owed for Operation Lone Star. Last year, I helped secure $12 billion in border reimbursements, and I will not stop fighting until that money is disbursed. Read more about my work to reimburse Texas for the border crisis here.

Coleman County Telephone Cooperative

This week in Coleman, I had the opportunity to visit the Coleman County Telephone Cooperative and meet with CEO and General Manager Kendra Young. I appreciated hearing more about their efforts to expand broadband access across rural West Texas and seeing it firsthand. Reliable, high-speed internet is essential for families, students, farmers, ranchers, and small businesses alike. Expanding broadband access and closing the digital divide remain among my top priorities in Congress.

In fact, my bill, the Federal Broadband Deployment Tracking Act, recently passed the U.S. House of Representatives. This legislation would directly support the work of places like Coleman County Telephone Cooperative by enhancing government accountability and accelerating broadband deployment. I am extremely grateful for the work of the men and women at Coleman County Telephone Cooperative, and I will continue being a strong advocate for connectivity across rural America. Read more about my bill here.

National Small Business Week Spotlight: Owl Drug in Coleman

I also had to stop by the iconic Owl Drug Store to support one of the many small businesses that help keep our communities strong. As we recognize National Small Business Week, I’m proud to continue fighting for Main Street and delivering historic relief for small businesses in Congress. When you shop local, you support jobs, families, and communities around Texas-11.

KWEL Morning Show with Craig Anderson

I joined the KWEL Morning Show hosted by Craig Anderson to discuss Secretary Burgum’s visit to the Permian Basin and much more. Listen to our full conversation here or by clicking the image below.

Military Spouse Appreciation Day

Today marks Military Spouse Appreciation Day, and I want to recognize my incredible wife, Camille, for her love and support throughout my 25+ years of service. She continues to be my rock when times are difficult, and I would not be where I am today without her support.

While our service members accomplish the mission of protecting this great nation, military spouses serve in an extraordinary way, protecting their service members and caring for their families. Camille, I love you and thank you for everything you do. God Bless our service members and the spouses who serve alongside them every day.
