Rafael Uvalle Jr., 51, of San Angelo, gained his angel wings with God on May 5, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on March 16, 1975, in San Saba to Rafael Uvalle Sr. and Mercedes Uvalle and was the oldest among his siblings.

Rafael was a kind soul with a heart of gold who never met a stranger. He was a hardworking man, and was an NA advocate, and someone who brought laughter and light wherever he went. Known as the life of the party and the class clown, Rafael’s goofy personality and loving spirit touched everyone around him. He was a devoted believer in God and loved his family deeply.

Rafael graduated from Brookesmith ISD, Class of 1994, and later attended Texas State Technical College, where he earned his degree in HVAC in 1996. He took pride in being a hardworking man and a dedicated provider for his family.

Rafael had many passions in life. He loved birds, especially his beloved bird, Sunshine, whom he adored. He also had a special love for penguins. In his free time, he enjoyed watching football, proudly cheering on the San Francisco 49ers and playfully arguing with everyone about the Dallas Cowboys, he also enjoyed college basketball cheering on the Duke Blue Devils. Rafael also loved drawing and often gifted his artwork to friends and family as a way of sharing his love.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Salvador and Isabel Uvalle of Bustamante, Nuevo León, Mexico, and his maternal grandparents, Josephina and Eugenio Perez of Lampasas.

Rafael leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Margaret Uvalle; his six children, Pedro (Marie), Rafael M., Miguel, Elida, Esteban, and Josie Uvalle; his two sisters, Isabel Rodriguez and Thelma (Alfredo) Rodriguez; and his brother, Salvador Uvalle. He also leaves behind his five beloved grandchildren, Liam, Noah, Lena, Sophie, and Lexie Uvalle, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Rafael will be remembered for his laughter, his kindness, his unwavering faith, and the love he shared so freely with everyone around him. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 10, 2026, from 3:00 – 4:00pm, with the Rosary starting at 4:00pm at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in Brownwood.

Funeral Services will be on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 10:00am at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brownwood, with Interment following at the Cedar Point Cemetery in Brownwood.

Arrangements are entrusted to Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
