EULA – The Bangs Dragons were limited to three hits in their Class 2A Division I Region I baseball bi-district series opener by the No. 14 Hawley Bearcats in a 10-0 decision here Wednesday afternoon.

Game 2 of the series will be played at 1 p.m. Thursday in Clyde and Game 3, if needed, will follow at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Floydada.

The Dragons (9-13-1) – the second seed from District 7 – received a pair of singles from Jaxon Duncan, and another base hit from Boyd Diaz.

Connor Bible and Trapper Estess combined to yield two earned runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts and three walks as the Dragons defense committed six errors behind them.

For District 8 top seed Hawley (18-8-1), Jesse Nieto worked all six innings on the mound and struck out two with three walks to go along with the three-hitter.

Nieto also finished with a hit and four RBIs, Braylen Williams added a hit and three RBIs, and Aiden Romo and Jake Bristow contributed two hits apiece.
