Cisco 6, Bangs Dragons 1

EULA – The Bangs Dragons will head into the postseason as the No. 2 seed from District 7 in the Class 2A Division I baseball playoffs following a 6-1 loss to Cisco in a seeding game Wednesday night.

The Dragons (9-12-1) fell behind 4-0 in the bottom of the first inning and faced a 5-0 deficit after two frames. Bangs scored its lone run in the top of the sixth inning, but Cisco answered with its final run in the bottom half.

Bangs was limited to a pair of hits – one by Connor Bible and one by Rex Guerrero, who drove in the Dragons’ only run.

On the mound, Jaxon Duncan and Trapper Estess yielded a combined two earned runs on six hits with six strikeouts and one walk, as Bangs committed two errors

Peaster 13, Early Longhorns 1

EARLY – The Early Longhorns slipped to 8-18 on the season and 3-10 in District 8-3A action with a 13-1 home loss to Peaster in the home finale Wednesday night.

Early fell behind 7-0 in the top of the second inning, was down 8-1 after three, 11-1 after four, and Peaster tallied its final two runs in the fifth inning.

The Longhorns were limited to one hit by Eli Pallette, while Brayden Moya, Nick Salazar, and Weston Harrison drew walks.

For Early, Chris Ivy and Brennan Rasor combined to allow eight earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and six walks, while the Longhorn defense committed four errors.

The Longhorns close their season at Peaster at 7 p.m. Friday.
