Freida Bilbrey, 84, of Brownwood, Texas, passed away on April 14, 2026. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 16, at Jones Chapel Cemetery in Early, Texas under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.

Freida was born on January 8, 1942, in Brownwood, Texas, to Otis and Ethel Wilborn. She went on to marry Charles Lee Bilbrey and they began a life together that blessed them with 3 children, whom she raised while also working at the Feather Factory for years.

Freida had a passion for gardening. She loved to watch “The Price is Right” as often as she could. She had a true love for her grandkids, and it seemed that all of the pictures she has taken over the years was of her grandkids and her husband. She truly enjoyed raising “a bunch of heathens” (her family). Freida was an amazing cook and loved to bake things for the family. She lived a long, very hard life but always had a smile on her face. Even through the hard times, she kept strong for the family. Freida had a love for garage sales, thrift stores, and Goodwill, as well as her niece, Linda’s resale shop. She was the most optimistic person through life’s trials and always managed to giggle and smile. Freida loved her family and found the good in everyone. She always teased her sister (and best friend), Bernice, that if she had met Bernice’s husband first, she would have stole him from her. She was a member of Haven of Hope Church, where she was dearly loved.

Freida is survived by her grandson, Jaime Bilbrey (Emily) of DFW; granddaughter, Amber Quick of Brownwood; grandson, John Quick of Brownwood; granddaughter, Chandra Hinshaw of Brownwood; great-granddaughter, Willow Quick of Brownwood; great-granddaughter, Lavender Bilbrey of DFW; sister, Bernice Randall (Coy) of Vandervoort, Arkansas; brother, Earnest Willborn of Brownwood; and brother, Otis “Sonny” Willborn of Brownwood.

Freida was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Bible; sister, Reba Bible; her children, Jana, James, and Brian; husband, Charles Bilbrey; infant son, David Lee; infant son, Marty; and her parents, Otis and Ethel Wilborn.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
