April 10, 2026

Friend,

Welcome back to the Pfluger Fly-By, a weekly roundup of the work I am doing to represent you and our communities in Congress.

It is always an honor to represent the best district in the country! I recently had the opportunity to connect with many of you at events throughout the district, including attending meetings with the Menard Business Association and the San Saba Rotary Club. I also had the pleasure of joining the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the American Exploration and Production Council.

On the media front, I joined Fox West Texas in studio, spoke with Ruth Campbell at the Odessa American, and went live on The Story on Fox News with guest host Trace Gallagher. My office is also continuing to accept applications for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition, which is an incredible opportunity for students to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol.

Below, you’ll find highlights, including pictures, in-depth updates, and information on how my office can help you with any federal concerns. As always, my team and I are here to serve you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need assistance.

Best,

Menard Business Association Meeting

I had a great time joining the Menard Business Association’s lunch for a lively and productive conversation. Small businesses are the backbone of our communities, and I’m proud to be their voice in Washington.

That’s why I fought to deliver major wins through the Working Families Tax Cuts, such as making 199A small-business deductions permanent at 20%, expanding tax relief, incentivizing Made-in-America investments, and much more. I appreciate the Menard Business Association for the invitation to speak and give an update from Washington.

Fox West Texas Interview with Ethan Purcell

I had the pleasure of joining Ethan Purcell from Fox West Texas in studio to discuss the ongoing Department of Homeland Security shutdown, the passage of my legislation in the U.S. House, the Save America Act, and much more.

Tax Day is Fast-Approaching!

Tax Day is coming up NEXT WEEK on April 15th. I wanted to take a moment to remind everyone that thanks to the Republican-led Working Families Tax Cuts (WFTC) signed into law last year, Americans are keeping more of their hard-earned money this tax season.

I firmly believe Americans deserve lower taxes and less government in their lives, which is exactly what this legislation delivers. One of the many critical provisions in this legislation was the permanent extension of the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts. Without this, over 475,000 taxpayers in Texas’s 11th Congressional District would have faced a 26% tax increase, the largest in American history.

I penned an op-ed outlining these wins for TX-11 in the San Angelo Standard Times last fall. Read the piece here or by clicking the image below.

San Saba Rotary Club Meeting

I enjoyed addressing members of the San Saba Rotary Club at their monthly meeting. It’s always great to be with people who make such a positive impact in our community.

Rotary Clubs are essential for bringing people of all generations together who share a passion and dedication to serving their community. I’m grateful for the incredible work and impact of Rotary Clubs across Texas-11.

Llano Service Academy Night

My office had an incredible turnout for the Service Academy Night in Llano. As a U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, it’s an honor to help open doors for the next generation of leaders.

I highly encourage students interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy to contact my office or my Academy Liaison, Mary O’Connor, with any questions about the application process. You can also visit my website at https://pfluger.house.gov/service-academy-nomination/ to learn more.

**Additional Service Academy Nights will be announced later this year. Please stay tuned to my social media pages and the Pfluger Fly-By newsletter for updates.**

ICYMI: Interview with Ruth Campbell of the Odessa American

I recently joined Ruth Campbell of the Odessa American for a wide-ranging interview covering the $14.3 million I helped secure for critical upgrades to Midland International Air and Space Port, the Democrats’ ongoing Department of Homeland Security shutdown, and the legislation I recently introduced to address the growing threat of the deadly drug nitazine in America.

Read about the interview here or by clicking the image below.

The Story with Martha McCallum on Fox News

I recently appeared live on Fox News’ The Story with Martha MacCallum with guest host Trace Gallagher to discuss the heroic rescue of two American airmen in the Middle East.

Honoring the American Exploration and Production Council on 50th Anniversary

I was honored to recognize the American Exploration and Production Council (AXPC) on its 50th anniversary by submitting a statement into the Congressional Record. As the representative of the Permian Basin, this anniversary holds tremendous significance to Texas-11 and our state.

AXPC was founded in 1976 during a time of energy shortages and growing dependence on foreign oil. It has long advocated for policies that support responsible energy production. I commend AXPC on this momentous anniversary and its dedication to American energy producers. Read more about their anniversary here or by clicking the image below.

Deadline Approaching Soon: 2026 Congressional Art Competition

Attention all parents, students, and teachers in TX-11! My office is now accepting submissions for the 2026 Congressional Art Competition. This competition gives high school students from across Texas-11 the opportunity to have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building.

This year’s theme is ‘Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary,’ and students will have until April 13th, 2026, to submit their artwork. Information on the Congressional Art Competition, including how to apply, can be found on the Congressman’s website by clicking here.

Every year, I am completely blown away by the talent and creativity of so many incredible young artists throughout Texas-11 who participate in the Congressional Art Competition. This year’s theme gives students the opportunity to tell America’s story through their own creative lens. I am especially excited to see how students use their art to celebrate our nation’s history and express their patriotism. I am incredibly blessed to represent the 11th District and to support these remarkable young artists as they help commemorate this historic moment for our country.

RULES

Artwork must be two-dimensional and original in concept, design, and execution. Art must follow the theme of ‘Celebrating America’s 250th Anniversary.’

The artwork’s dimensions can be no larger than 26 inches high, 26 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. Accepted mediums for the two-dimensional artwork are as follows:

  • Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
  • Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastel, charcoal (It is recommended that charcoal and pastel drawings be fixed.)
  • Collages: must be two-dimensional
  • Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints
  • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor, etc.
  • Computer-generated art
  • Photographs

Students are highly encouraged to review the competition’s complete rules and regulations on our congressional website. Please contact Carol Cunningham in the Llano District Office at carol.cunningham@mail.house.gov with any questions.

REMINDER: If you are in need of assistance with a federal agency, my office is here to help. For more information, please visit our website HERE.

Thank you for reading. It is the honor of my lifetime to serve you in Congress. Please follow me on Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter) for daily updates.
