
BROCK – The Brownwood Lions were unable to slow down the buzz-saw that is the No. 4 Brock Eagles, who kept their string of District 6-4A baseball shutouts intact with a 12-0 decision Friday night.
Brock (17-3, 6-0) pitcher Evan O’Connor – an Arizona State signee – tossed a perfect against Brownwood (6-18, 1-5), which struck out 12 times and had no batters reach base. The Lions also fell to Brock by an 11-0 count Tuesday at Morris Southall Field.
Blayne Stegemoller, Rhett Lowe and Wyatt Wolf combined to allow seven earned runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and six walks, while the Brownwood defense committed two errors.
O’Connor also delivered three hits and six RBIs for the Brock offense, while Canon Lightfoot chipped in a pair of hits and two RBIs.
The Lions will next host Glen Rose (12-13, 2-4) at 7 p.m. Tuesday, then visit the Tigers at 7 p.m. Friday, April 17.
