The City of Brownwood is inviting families to gather for a new Family Movie Night series with its first event scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2026, at the Brownwood Event Center Complex, 601 E Baker St.
The event will take place on the Baker Street Lawn and is designed as a free, family-centered evening featuring a movie under the stars, complimentary popcorn and drinks, and activities for children. The lawn will open at 6:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The April event will feature a screening of A Minecraft Movie, bringing a fun, interactive, and gamer-inspired theme to kick off the series. Attendees can expect themed activities and a welcoming environment for families to relax and enjoy time together.
“This is a great opportunity for families to come out, spend time together, and enjoy one of our community’s most unique spaces,” said Visitor Services Manager Tatiana Figueroa. “We are excited to introduce something new that brings people together in a fun and accessible way.”
Family Movie Night is presented by the City of Brownwood as part of ongoing efforts to create engaging, community-focused events for residents of all ages.
A second Family Movie Night is already planned for Thursday, May 28, 2026, featuring Lilo & Stitch with a tropical, summer-themed experience.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating on the Baker Street Lawn. For additional information, contact the Visitor Center at (325)641-0517, 700 E Adams Street.
