Tommy Edineo Parson, 68 years old from Bangs Tx, peacefully passed away on April 3, 2026, in Abilene, surrounded by his cherished family.

Born on December 20, 1957, in Brownwood, Texas, Tommy was the youngest of three children to Marion Tommy Parson and Soledad Escobedo Parson. Growing up in Brownwood, he spent his childhood years there and graduated from Brownwood High School in 1976.

In 2001, Tommy found love and married Jerita Doss, bringing together their two families. For the next 25 years, they shared countless moments with their grandchildren, tending to their land and chickens, which Tommy adored. Many were familiar with Tommy’s years of dedicated service as a JCO supervisor at Ron Jackson State School. His remarkable ability to connect with and work with youth was evident to everyone who knew him. It was no surprise that after leaving the state school, he later found his calling at Brownwood ISD, where he worked as a teacher’s aide for the 5th and 6th grades for several years. He relished his work there, making a significant impact on the children in his classrooms.

After retiring, Tommy’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. Being Pops was the best job he had ever had. He could often be seen cheering them on in the stands at sporting events and livestock shows.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Jerita Parson of Bangs; Son, Thomas Parson and wife Autumn of Saint Mary’s, Ga; Daughter, Lacy Sherman and husband Jon of Austin, Tx; Daughter Geanna Johnson and husband J.W. of Bangs, Tx; and Daughter Kelcy Purcell and husband Joshua of Bangs, Tx.; Grandchildren, Owen and Emalyn Johnson of Bangs, Weston and Carson Hardin of Bangs, Calla Parson and Jay and Paisley Lotz of Saint Mary Georgia; Sister, Julieta De Luna of Eagle Pass, Tx; Sister-in-law, Maria Escobedo of Early, Tx; and numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Soledad Parson; Brothers, Jesus Nolasco Escobedo and Frank Escobedo; Brother-in -law, Rodolfo De Luna; and Grandson, Miles Johnson.

Memorial can be made to Sleep in Heavenly Peace at 231 Parkway Drive, Suite 100 PMB 101, Early, TX 76802

Visitation will be held Saturday April 11, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home in Brownwood. A private family interment will follow at Jordan Spring Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.
