
The regional finalist and district, bi-district and area champion Brownwood Lions soccer team earned 16 postseason accolades from the coaches of District 5-4A, including five superlative awards.
Chosen as the MVP of District 5-4A boys soccer was Isaac Morales, while the Goalkeeper MVP was Hudson Fry, Offensive Newcomer of the Year was Jonathan Skrhak, and Defensive Newcomer of the Year was Zackary Clawson.
Also, Michael Westerman was selected as the 5-4A Coach of the Year after guiding the Lions to a program-best 15-2-2 record – including 8-0 against league foes – their first district title since 2013, and first-ever trip to the regional championship round of the playoffs.
Making the first team for the Lions were Jermiah Chacon, Malakai Wyatt, Alex Vaquera, Raven Prado, and Aiden Jimenez.
Tabbed for the second team were Bennett Windham, Jacob Gray, and Eli Valenciano.
Receiving honorable mention were Nick Rodriguez, Adrian Skrhak, and Brody Byrd.
