WALL – Short-handed with six entrants preparing for the Texas Relays Friday and Saturday, the Brownwood Lady Lions track and field team placed fifth at the Wall Cotton Patch Relays Thursday, while the Lions came in seventh in the final team standings.

The Lady Lions generated 49 points, which trailed Wall (146.5), Jim Ned (126), Abilene High (105), and Coleman (74).

Meanwhile, the Lions tallied 20 points which left them behind Wall (151), Jim Ned (102), Abilene High (90), Midland Christian (62), Midland Greenwood (58), and Coleman (29).

For the Lady Lions, Nylah Hall won the triple jump (36-6.25) and Kaydence Allen won the shot put (35-6.5). For the Lions, Hutton Malone won the pole vault (13-0).

In JV action, the Lady Lions placed fifth with 61 points and the Lions also finished fifth with 36 points.

All Brownwood track and field athletes will return to action Wednesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 9 at the District 6-4A meet in Graham.
