
COMANCHE – The Early Lady Horns softball team remained undefeated in District 8-3A action and pushed their win streak to 13 with a 19-1 victory at Comanche Wednesday.
The Lady Horns (21-4, 10-0) scored eight runs in the first inning, one in the second, two in the third, five in the fourth and tacked on three final runs in the fifth inning. Comanche mustered its only run the bottom of the first.
Early generated 17 hits, including four home runs by Jamie Vassar, Andie Simpson, Kyleigh Caperton and Paizlee Scott.
Caperton and Simpson each finished with three hits and four RBIs out of the top two spots in the batting order, while Scott and Aleeya McCombs each notched a pair of hits with three RBIs. Avery Stifflemire chipped in two hits, while Jaime Lyon doubled and drove in two, Sydney Greaves singled and knocked in one, and Vassar homered. Sunny Groom and Harper Thornberry also contributed base hits.
In the circle, Adysn Atchley pitched all five innings and allowed on run on three hits with five strikeouts and three walks to notch the win.
The Lady Horns next host Breckenridge at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
