RANGER — Residents of the Brownwood area are invited to attend a powerful and moving event as Ranger College hosts The Wall That Heals, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Replica & Mobile Education Center, from April 23–26, on the Ranger College campus.

Located just about an hour from Brownwood, this traveling memorial offers veterans, families, and community members a unique opportunity to honor and remember the more than 58,000 service members who lost their lives during the Vietnam War.

The Wall That Heals is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., bringing the emotional impact and educational experience of the memorial closer to home for communities across the Brownwood region.

This free event will include several key moments of interest, including:

• A law enforcement and motorcycle escort procession into Ranger

• A public opening ceremony featuring local leaders and veterans

• Opportunities for Brownwood-area veterans and families to find names, leave tributes, and share their stories

• A mobile education center providing historical context and exhibits Media outlets serving the Brownwood area are invited to cover the event, including the escort procession, opening ceremony, and personal stories from local veterans and families with connections to the memorial.

In addition, community members from Brownwood and the surrounding area are encouraged to get involved by volunteering during the event. Volunteers will play an important role in welcoming guests, assisting with the exhibit, and helping ensure a meaningful experience for all who attend.

The exhibit is free and open to the public, and all members of the Brownwood community are encouraged to attend—whether during the week or over the weekend, The Wall That Heals is a powerful experience for all.
