William Sidney “Bill” Hart, a man whose life was marked by adventure, dedication, and a spirited love for living, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Holiday Hill Nursing Home in Coleman, Texas. Born on October 17, 1941, in Norfolk, Virginia, Bill lived a life rich in experiences and full of vibrant pursuits.

Bill grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, where he laid the foundation for his journey by graduating from Arcadia High School. His career journey led him to a long-standing role as a parts manager for General Motors, a position through which he established himself as a reliable and dedicated professional.

Known for his fun and outgoing personality, Bill’s youthful years were filled with excitement as he embraced his passion for drag racing and car building. His adventurous spirit took flight—quite literally—when he moved to Holbrook, Arizona, and became the manager of the Holbrook Airport. It was during this period that Bill took flying lessons and eventually owned five airplanes. His love of aviation extended beyond personal enjoyment, as he generously shared the breathtaking sights of Arizona and the Grand Canyon, offering citizens memorable aerial tours.

Bill’s zest for life did not wane with age. Later, upon relocating to Oregon, he acquired a 28-foot boat, embarking on many memorable journeys down the Columbia, Snake, and Willamette Rivers. His enthusiasm for exploration and his embrace of life’s opportunities were evident in every chapter of his story.

Bill leaves behind Carolyn Hart of Coleman, his friend and the mother of his son. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Adolphus Junius Hart and Mary Katherine Barr Hart; his son, Michael Lee Hart; and all his siblings.

William Sidney Hart lived a full and varied life, marked by a commitment to family, professional excellence, and an unyielding pursuit of adventure and joy. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him and whose lives he touched with his warmth and spirited nature.

At Bill’s request, no formal service will be held. He will be cremated and his ashes will be spread on the Oregon coast. Arrangements have been entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

We invite you to share fond memories and words of comfort and condolence with the Hart family by signing the guestbook on Bill’s tribute page at www.stevensfuneralhome.com. Stevens Funeral Home is honored to serve the Hart family.
