EARLY – Grumps Burgers, based out of Granbury, is expanding with another restaurant to be located in Early, run by Eric and Mackenzie Martinez.

With locations in Abilene, Burleson, Cleburne, Glen Rose, Granbury, River Oaks, and Stephenville, Mackenzie Martinez informed BrownwoodNews.com that the Grumps in Early will be located at site of the former Heff’s Burgers at 215 Early Boulevard.

“We chose to bring Grumps to Early because it’s home for us – it’s where we live and where our kids will go to school,” Martinez said. “Investing in the Early community and supporting the local economy that supports us was incredibly important in making this decision. We also felt like Early could really benefit from a fast-casual burger spot serving fresh, hot, delicious food. Grump’s has always been a favorite of ours – we used to go all the time in college in Stephenville and later in DFW. When we moved here, it was something we truly missed, and we’re so excited to bring it to our community.”

Hours at Grumps will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday with a target opening date of mid-June to early July.

According to the Grumps website, owner Collier Albright said, “We were born at a very early age. In 2001, I wanted to leave my corporate gig and open a burger joint. After the laughter stopped, I convinced my friends and family that it really could work. I knew that I liked to go out and eat at places where I felt like the employees knew my name and appreciated my business. My favorite places are fun, clean, have a casual atmosphere that are service oriented and priced reasonably. Places where friends and family can gather and enjoy themselves without feeling rushed. Grumps (named after my grandad-sorta) operates with the following goals in mind:

*Provide first-class customer service (all it takes is EFFORT!),
*Sell quality product that’s priced right, and
*Enjoy what we do!

BOOYAH, simplicity. I’m proud to say that to date those core competencies have allowed us to be named Best Burger in 5 markets, every year that we’ve been open.

We appreciate your business and hope that if all is not satisfactory, you’ll let us know. That’s the only way we’re gonna get better!!”

Grumps is best known for its queso burger and jalapeño ketchup, although Martinez is personally a big fan of the onion rings.

As for what makes Grumps special to Martinez, she said, “There’s truly nothing like a Grumps burger – everything is made fresh and served hot, and it’s always delicious. The beer is ice cold, and each location reflects the local community, giving it a comfortable, hometown feel. We truly believe it’s something our community will love. We’ve always known we wanted to own a local business and put down roots here, and once we connected with the incredible Grumps team, we knew it was the perfect fit for Early.”
