Early Independent School District issued the following press release Friday morning:

Early Independent School District is proud to announce the appointment of Mrs. Julie Schafer as the new Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.

Mrs. Schafer brings 23 years of experience in elementary education, all of which have been dedicated to serving students and families within Early ISD. Her deep-rooted commitment to the district and community reflects a career built on passion, leadership, and a strong focus on student success.

For the past six years, Mrs. Schafer has served as an elementary principal, where she demonstrated exceptional leadership, fostered a positive campus culture, and supported both student achievement and teacher development. Her ability to build strong relationships and maintain high expectations has made a lasting impact across her campus.

In her new role, Mrs. Schafer will lead efforts to strengthen curriculum, support instructional practices, and ensure that all elementary students receive a high-quality educational experience. She brings extensive knowledge of curriculum and instruction, along with a clear dedication to meeting the needs of every learner.

“Mrs. Schafer has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence in education and a deep dedication to the students and families of Early ISD,” said Superintendent Dr. Joan Otten. “Her experience, leadership, and passion for supporting both teachers and students make her exceptionally well-suited for this role. We are excited to see the continued positive impact she will have across our elementary campuses.”

Early ISD is confident that Mrs. Schafer’s experience, leadership, and commitment to students will continue to positively influence the district and the broader community.
