The 5th Annual Brown County Fair Association Ranch Rodeo will take place April 10-11 at the Earl Q. Wilson Arena at the Brown County Fairgrounds at 4206 U.S. Highway 377 South.

Tickets are $10 for adults while kids 12 and under are admitted free. Action takes place at 6 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday, with the finals slated for 6 p.m. Saturday. To attend all three, the price is $25.

Teams of four compete in five events of the working cowboy, and those events include team penning, doctoring, trailer loading, stray gathering, and double mugging, along with wild cow milking in the finals Saturday night.

There’s a 75% payback along with first-place buckles and awards for top hand and top horse.

The first Terrence Till Memorial Rodeo Tough Hand award, sponsored and judged by his family, will also be presented during the finals, and will be accompanied with a buckle $5,000 cash prize. The award goes to the competitor that displays the most resilience, perseverance, and toughness.

Also, goat roping will be held Saturday as books open at 1:30 p.m. in the show barns and Mutton Bustin’ for kids ages 7 and under is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, with a $25 entry fee.

The Kids Corral on Saturday will feature inflatable slides and petting zoo located in the sheep barns.

The Ranch Rodeo Expo will also coincide with the event, held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. More than 40 vendors are expected on the grounds over the weekend.
