During Monday night’s meeting, the Brownwood ISD Board of Trustees received the Texas Academic Performance Report (TAPR) for the 2024-25 school year.

TAPR pulls together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and socioeconomic status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics.

A copy of the 34-page report can be found at this link: 2024-25-tapr

Also during the meeting, Charles Musgrove was recognized for his performance in terms of Community Relations and Communications as BISD received three Star Awards at the TSPRA Convention. In the last year, Musgrove has issued 70 press releases, the Back to School ROAR magazine and is charge of the Brownwood ISD website and the ParentSquare platform, among numerous other responsibilities.

Approved on the Consent Agenda were library materials, Additional Day School Year dates, instruction materials allotment annual certification, adult meal prices for 2026-27 school year, and the minutes from the Feb. 9 meeting.

During in instructional focus portion of the meeting, Deputy Superintendent Liesa Land told those in attendance that the school district will begin transitioning to the Bluebonnet curriculum in Math for sixth grade through Algebra I students.

The Bluebonnet curriculum has started to improve math performances, which have not yet returned to pre-COVID levels.

Land also reported that teachers must also complete Math Academies by the 2030-31 school year.

The board will next meet on Monday, April 13.
