
IRA – The May Tigers baseball team picked up a pair of Saturday victories, first knocking off Westbrook, 10-1, before downing Ralls, 10-4.
Against Westbrook, the Tigers led 4-0 after one inning, 6-1 through two, and added their final four runs in the third frame.
May collected eight hits – three by Lane Goodson and one apiece by Hunter Seider, Jackson Lusk, Brody Stice, Kayden Psencik and Ty McInnis. Goodson, Seider, Lusk, Stice and Psencik also recorded one RBI apiece.
On the mound, Cayson Dail and Goodson combined to allow one run on five hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
In the triumph over Ralls, the Tigers amassed seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and three more runs in the second, while allowing one run in the third inning and three more in the fourth.
May finished with 11 hits – two each by Goodson, Seider, Lusk, and Kaden Watkins, and one apiece by Stice, Britton Morrow and Justin McKenzie. Driving in runs were Dail, Goodson, Seider, Watkins, Lusk, Stice, Psencik and Morrow with one RBI each.
Goodson, Watkins, Stice, McInnis and McKenzie teamed up to toss four innings of four-run ball, yielding six hits with five strikeouts and eight walks.
The Tigers (3-1) are off until March 24 when they welcome Gorman.
