
HICO – The Bangs Lady Dragons placed third as a team, while the Bangs Dragons came in fifth in the final team standings at the Hico Relays on Thursday.
Leading the effort for the Lady Dragons was Adalynne Stephens, who won the 3200 meters.
Coming in second were Cameryn Harmon in both the long jump and triple jump, along with the 4×100 relay team of Julia Scantling, Valerie Razo, Kynlee White, and Harmon.
Stephens also finished third in the 3200 meters, while fourth-place efforts belonged to Scantling in both the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles.
The 4×200 relay of White, Vanessa Cafferata, Kylee Newton and Elizabeth Barnett placed fourth, as did Adaline Gregory in the discus, and White came in sixth place in the triple jump as well.
For the Dragons, Conner Bible in the 100 meters, Noe Martinez in the 3200 meters, and Cason Tidwell in the 300-meter hurdles all earned silver medals.
Collecting bronze medals were Martinez in the 1600 meters, Brennan Mendieta in the 800 meters, and the 4×400 relay of Bible, Tidwell, Braxton Wommack, and Ryan Alqorum.
Tidwell also finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles, while fifth-place efforts were turned in by Wommack in 400 meters, Alqorum in the triple jump, Ben Perez in the 3200 meters, and the 4×100 relay of Wommack, Alqorum, Bible and Hunter Withers.
Kian Kelly in the discus, and the 4×200 relay added sixth-place performances.
Bangs will next compete in the Brownwood Bluebonnet Relays on Thursday, March 19.
