
COLORADO CITY – The May Tigers opened their baseball season Thursday afternoon with a 7-3 neutral site victory over the O’Donnell Eagles
May jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning then, after O’Donnell crept within a run, the Tigers added four more runs in the fourth inning to open a 7-2 advantage.
The Tigers drew six walks and generated eight hits – two each from Jackson Lusk and Cayson Dail, who both tripled; Kaden Watkins doubled and collected three RBIs; Hunter Seider singled and knocked in a run; and Lane Goodson and Maddix Raffel also added hits.
On the mound, Goodson, Dail and Seider combined to toss four innings of two-hit ball, yielding two earned runs with four strikeouts and six walks.
O’Donnell mustered single runs in the first, second and four innings.
The Tigers (1-0) are back in action at 4 p.m. Friday facing Coahoma in Colorado City, then on Saturday May battles Westbrook at noon and Ira at 4 p.m. in Ira.
