LIPAN – The Brownwood Lions ‘A’ golf team placed second at the Brock Battle at the Brazos Wednesday at Sugar Tree Golf Course with a 309 composite score, while the Lions ‘B’ team placed 11th with a 368 total.
From the Lions ‘A’ team, Peyton Sharp placed third overall with a round of 73 followed by Ryker Calvert with a sixth-place 76, Will Stewardson with a 14th-place 78, Layton Kemp with an 82, and Sheriff Jones with an 84.
Comprising the Lions ‘B’ team were Judson Coalson with a round of 83, Carson Noe with a 90, Grant Gray with a 93, Elijah Waldrop with a 102, and Jacob Orton with a 107.
Godley was the first-place team with a 300 total, and the top two individuals were Hayden Cleveland of Burkburnett (71) and Tripp Karnes of Godley (72).
The Lions golfers will be back in action Tuesday, March 10 at the Knights of Columbus tournament at Legends Golf Course in Stephenville.
