
The Spiritual Progressives will hold their quarterly meeting at the Lyric Theater, 318 Center Ave. in Brownwood, Monday March 2, at 6:30 pm. The featured speaker is Charles Johnson, Executive Director with Pastors for Texas Children.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome.
Johnson will address recent legislative actions affecting Texas public schools, including vouchers, Ten Commandment posting in classrooms, and moments of silence and Bible reading.
Charles Foster Johnson is both a pastor and a public education advocate. Over his forty-year pastoral ministry, he has served churches in Mississippi, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas, including a term as interim pastor at First Baptist Church, Brownwood.
