The City of Bangs posted the following information on social media Monday morning:

The City of Bangs is proud to announce it has been awarded a $225,000 grant through the Resilient Communities Program administered by the Texas General Land Office. This significant investment will support critical infrastructure improvements and strengthen the community’s ability to withstand and recover from future disasters.

The Resilient Communities Program provides funding to local governments across Texas to enhance disaster mitigation and infrastructure resilience, particularly in rural and underserved areas. The City of Bangs will utilize the $225,000 award to advance projects aimed at improving public safety, protecting essential services, and reducing long-term risks associated with severe weather and other hazards.

“This grant represents an important step forward for Bangs,” said City Administrator, Erica Berry. “We are grateful to the Texas General Land Office for recognizing the needs of our community and for investing in projects that will make our city stronger and more resilient for years to come.”

The funding will assist the City in planning and implementing improvements that support sustainable growth while safeguarding residents, businesses, and public infrastructure. City officials will work closely with community stakeholders and regional partners to ensure the effective use of grant funds.

The City of Bangs remains committed to pursuing opportunities that enhance quality of life and promote long-term stability for its residents. Additional details regarding project timelines and implementation will be announced as they become available.

“This grant represents an important step forward for Bangs,” said City Administrator Erica Berry. “We are grateful to the Texas General Land Office for recognizing the needs of our community and for investing in projects that will make our city stronger and more resilient for years to come.”
