Betsy was Born in Craighead County, Arkansas, she was the youngest of 11 children born to William and Birdie (Reed) Sharp.
On March 7, 1956, she married the love of her life, Gene L. Henderson, in Wink, Texas. Together, they shared 61 beautiful years of marriage and a lifetime of memories until his passing in 2017. They had two sons, Jimmy and Gary Henderson.

Betsy was a beautician by trade and was a woman of many remarkable talents. Her hands were rarely still; she spent her time quilting intricate patterns and painting breathtaking landscapes that captured her artistic spirit. She found peace outdoors, tending to her flower garden and fishing. However, her true mastery was in the kitchen. With a generous heart and a “more the merrier” philosophy, she could whip up a feast for 20 people at a moment’s notice, ensuring no one ever left her home hungry. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her two sons, whom she loved dearly. She was the heart of her home, always welcoming friends and family with open arms and a warm smile. She leaves behind a legacy of creativity, hospitality, and unconditional love.

Betsy is survived by her son, Gary Henderson and daughter-in-law, Lanette of Bee Cave, TX; four grandchildren, Meaghan Bostwick and husband, Matt of Colorado Springs, CO; Tyler Henderson of Tyler, TX; Jason Wachsmann and wife Megan of Dallas, TX; and Heather Moore and husband Joseph of Lakeway, TX; three great-grandchildren, Dylan Wachsmann, Harry Wachsmann and Audrey Keller.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Henderson; son, Jimmy Henderson; parents, William and Birdie Sharp; and 10 siblings.

Graveside services will be held at Rocky Creek Cemetery, located at 4300 Co Rd 557, Brownwood, TX 76801 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 2pm. Arrangements are being made by Heartland Funeral Home, Early, TX.

Online condolences, memories and tributes can be made to the family at www.heartlandfuneralhome.net
