
BANGS – The Bangs Lady Dragons notched their first softball victory of the season Friday, defeating Dublin by a 12-8 count.
The Lady Dragons (1-1) trailed 3-0 after half an inning, but grabbed a 6-3 advantage in the bottom of the first. Dublin pulled even at 6 in the top of the fourth, but Bangs again surged in front 7-6, only to witness Dublin answer once more. The Lady Dragons’ final trip the plate produced five runs, which proved to be the difference in the contest.
Bangs finished with eight hits – three by Adalynne Stephens, two by Mattisyn Taylor, and one each by Cheyenne Rush, Justice Baker and Stormy Stringer. Stephens and Stringer both drove in two runs while Taylor was also credited with an RBI.
In the circle, Rush gave up three earned runs on six hits with nine strikeouts in five innings of work to earn the victory.
