Nick Poldrack, age 86, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, in Burleson, Texas. Born on June 9, 1939, in Coleman, Nick dedicated his life to serving his community and supporting his loved ones.
A proud alumnus of Coleman High School, Nick’s commitment to service began early in his career when he took on the important role of Postmaster at the Coleman Post Office, a position he held for many years. After retiring from this vital role, he continued to contribute to his community by working at Stevens Funeral Home and establishing his own lawn care service, tending to the greenery of numerous residents and businesses in Coleman. Nick also proudly served as mayor for the City of Coleman for several years.
Nick was also a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Coleman, where he enjoyed fellowship in the Unity Sunday School Class. Known for his quiet and kind demeanor, he was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, embodying the spirit of community care.
In his personal life, Nick found joy and fulfillment in his family. He married Evelyn Ruth Radle on April 1, 1961, in the parsonage of Northside Baptist Church in Santa Anna. Together, they shared a life filled with love and commitment. Nick will be remembered as” Pawpaw” by his surviving granddaughters Jordan Batla, Brandi Underwood and her husband Jonathan, and 9 great-grandkids. He also leaves behind his loving siblings: Freida Hart, Nan Moses, Treva Watson, Betsy Davis, Arthur Poldrack, Jr., and Steve Poldrack, along with many nieces and nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory.
Nick was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Poldrack; his daughter, Danita Renae Poldrack Batla; and sisters, Pamela Jan McElrath and Bitsy Felts.
A graveside service will be held in his honor on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 1:00 PM at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.
As we reflect on Nick’s life, we celebrate a man whose legacy is woven into the fabric of Coleman, a testament to a life of service, kindness, and love. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
